Micro-inverters are small inverters that convert the output
from a single solar panel into electricity you can use in your
home. When sunlight hits a solar panel, the panel creates
DC (direct current) power. Because the electric grid uses
AC (alternating current) power, and solar panels cant
create AC power on their own, a device called an inverter is

dependent on the irradiance,temperature, and the current drawn from the cells.
Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is used to obtain the maximum power
batteries, or powering an electric motor benefit from MPPT. In these
applications, the load can demand more power than the PV system can deliver.
In this case, a power conversion system is used to maximize
the power from the PV system.

There are many different approaches to maximizing the power from a PV
system, these range from using simple voltage relationships to more complex  
application and the dynamics of the irradiance, the power conversion engineer
needs to evaluate thevarious options.

ACTIVE SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEMS

There are two types of active solar water heating systems:

Direct circulation systems
Pumps circulate household water through the collectors and into the
home. They work well in climates where it rarely freezes.

•       
 Indirect circulation systems
Pumps circulate a non-freezing, heat-transfer fluid through the
collectors and a heat exchanger. This heats the water that then flows
into the home. They are popular in climates prone to freezing
temperatures.
